Hi! ;)  I’m Mekilah, the Executive Assistant and Digital Marketer for the Gainesville Empowerment Zone, and I’m also an active member of Gainesville For All. I have a genuine passion for making sure the day-to-day operations of our facility run smoothly so that our students and families can have the best possible experience, no matter where they come from. Over time, I’ve grown a real love for working in childcare and community-based initiatives, and I’m deeply committed to improving the well-being of not just our patrons, but the local Black community as a whole.

I strive to make the center a welcoming and comfortable space where students and families feel supported, valued, and inspired. I enjoy building meaningful, lasting relationships with those in our community and creating opportunities that foster growth, learning, and empowerment. Through my work, I aim to make a tangible, positive impact on people’s lives while helping to nurture a strong, connected community.

Beyond my role at the center, I’m passionate about advocacy, education, and digital outreach, always looking for ways to amplify voices, share resources, and promote initiatives that strengthen our local community. I believe in the power of collaboration and connection, and I work every day to ensure that our center is not just a place of learning, but a hub of support, growth, and opportunity for everyone who walks through our doors.
